The Agency offers five different levels of certification. Each level is based on the member’s educational and experiential backgrounds. They are also established on the initial and continued level of morals and ethics so essential to Christian counseling.

Associate Counselor

A one year Bible Diploma or two year Associates Degree is required for this level of certification. Certification must be held for a minimum of one year with evidence of continuing education relating to the counseling field. This level of certification is designed to initial the member into the field of Christian counseling. Examination required.
Annual Certification Assessment: $25.00

Certified Counselor

A two year Associates Degree or four year Bachelors Degree is required for this level of AECC certification. Certification must be held for a minimum of one year with evidence of continuing education. Those holding this level of certification are involved in either a Pastoral counseling ministry or are involved in an active counseling ministry in the church or as an extension of the local church. Examination required.
Annual Certification Assessment: $35.00

Associate Therapist

A four year Bachelors Degree is required for this level of AECC certification. Certification must be held for a minimum of one year with evidence of continuing education. Those holding this level of certification should be actively involved in a counseling ministry and have determined that counseling/therapy is their chosen ministry/vocation. Examination required along with a phone interview by three members of the Board of Examiners.
Annual Certification Assessment: $50.00

Certified Therapist

Those holding this level of certification must have a Masters Degree in an associated field. Those that are a candidate for a graduate degree from an accepted institution may apply for this designation. This level of certification requires the successful completion of an AECC examination and interview with three members of the Board of Examiners.
Annual Certification Assessment: $75.00

Doctoral Therapist

A designated Doctoral Therapist is the highest designation offered by The Agency. As such, it is expected that the candidate has maintained the highest level of ethics and morals. They must have a proven record of achievement in the counseling field. Applicants will be required to interview with five members of the Board of Examiners.
Annual Certification Assessment: $100.00
